Are you planning a trip to the pearls of the Northern Tien Shan? Kolsai and Kaindy lakes are one of the most picturesque places in Kazakhstan, ideal for solitude with nature and outdoor activities. Here's what's important to know before traveling: Location: the lakes are located in the Almaty region, about 300 km from Almaty. The journey takes 5-6 hours in one direction. The best time to visit is from May to October. In spring and summer, nature is especially vibrant, golden foliage in autumn, and fabulous landscapes in winter, but accessibility is limited. What to bring: comfortable shoes, warm clothes (even in the summer it's cool in the mountains), sunscreen, water and a snack. Communication and payment: mobile communication is unstable in the mountains, cards are not accepted everywhere — stock up on tenge in cash. Accommodation: you can stay in guest houses in the village of Saty — they offer traditional Kazakh hospitality. Features: Kolsai Lakes are three picturesque reservoirs at different heights. Hiking trails and horseback riding trails are suitable for nature lovers. Kaindy Lake is famous for its flooded forest — fir trees rise directly from the water, creating a mystical atmosphere. Respect nature: don't leave trash, don't make noise, and follow the signs. May your trip be inspiring and unforgettable!
